Catgirl

I made this catgirl somewhere last week. I imagined her as a blond at first, but she's way better this way. Maybe I'll do a series and make a blonde girl as wel :)
I'm looking for as nice oval frame in some kind of dark wood to put this pair in. Anyone know where to find one?

Oh Land & Cat Bag

I went to the concert of Oh Land tonight. I also went to see her the last time she was in Amsterdam (you can read my ramblings about Nanna and her band and listen to their music here and here). I'll have a full post ready next week, but for now I just want to share something really cool.
The last time I went I wore my catbag and Nanna said she really liked it, so I made her one (together with my mom, because I'm not that great with a sewing machine) and gave it to her tonight...
And she already put a picture of her wearing it on facebook!

I hope she'll wear it a lot :)

A BearBag!

Me and my mother finished another bag today!

  It's a polar bear :)

And my grumpy cat was being nice to me!

 She's actually quite nice :)

By the way, Oh Land is coming back to Amsterdam! I'm already so excited! I hope she still wants to buy one of my bags :)

New notebooks :)

I've been working on some new notebooks lately and I just got an email that my subject choices for the first half of the school year (which I posted about here) have been accepted! So from september till january I'll be doing lost of reading and I'll have plenty of time to work on my notebooks!

I went out to the garden to take some pictures of the new notebooks I made, thinking I'd have better light there, but it's just cloudy again... Oh well, these are just to give you an idea anyway :)

Sleeping bunnies falling from the sky :) They do always land on their feet though!

This seadragon is lost in the woods...

I'm particularly pleased with how this one turned out! And it looks great in the grass :)

While I was taking pictures, this little lady thought it would be nice to keep staring at me like I'm an idiot.

So here's a bonus picture of her ;)

I hope you like my notebooks and my cat :)

What's been happening?

Well... nothing much.

I've been ill the whole weekend, plus yesterday and today and it doesn't look like it's getting any better :(
So I've just been lying in bed or on the couch all day watching season one of Avatar again. I just don't seem to grow out of that series! I'm probably just very much in touch with my inner child :) But since I haven't had any exciting experiences to talk about (except for eating two apples this week, which is quite something for me, since I normally eat two apples a year) I'll just share some things that made me feel a bit less blegh today :)

Krystin from Sappy Apple did a post about Dear Photograph today. It's a lovely initiative that invites everyone to "take a picture of a picture from the past in the present". I think it's such a great idea! I would really love to take pictures like this myself!

One thing that can always make me smile is pictures of cats, or real cats of course! Being ill suddenly isn't so very bad anymore if you're being smothered in warm, purring kitty love the whole day :)
And this might be the cutest kitten I've ever seen :)

But this is absolutely the best thing I've seen all day! A cat with a hat!
It's actually Kaylah's Doctor Octopus and you can see the whole photoshoot at The Dainty Squid!

That's all for today! I'll be at home again tomorrow so maybe I'll post some happy things again :)

The CatBag

I forgot to share the pictures last time, but I've finally finished the amazing CatBag! I know I haven't mentioned it before, but it was a really long ongoing project of my mother and me. I started with drawings of the design more then a year ago.. I'm such a procrastinator..
But once we started on actually making it (I still don't trust myself with fabric and scissors) it got along quite quickly!
So without further ado, here are the pictures :)

Gaah! It's so cute!

I actually thought about making some intestines to go in here, but I think it might have reduced the cuteness a little too much..

It's a big scary world out there..

I'm so happy that it's finally finished! Now I just need a good excuse to show it off somewhere ;)

If you are working on something you love, please share! I'd love to see!
