A little bit of red

Here's a little list of of lovely little things with a little bit of red :)

A bird cage wall decal to brighten up a plain wall :)

A set of pretty little pillow cases with birds. These would look so good.. well.. anywhere!

An unusual bookmark for the stranger kind of books...

I don't wear rings because I always think they look weird on me, but I think this one might suit me!

A lovely print about living in the forest.

These are listed as espresso cups, but since I don't drink coffee I'm pretty sure they'll hold my tea as well :)

I really really love these earrings! I love fairytales, I really like red riding hood and wolves and the paintings are originals!

I hope you enjoyed my little list :) It makes me wish I could buy something though... :P

Pretty paper

As promised, my new notebooks! I kept them pretty simple because the paper is already pretty enough in itself :) I'd maybe just add a cut-out name to make it more personal.

The one with the penguins makes me smile every time I look at it.
I really love penguins :) Ooh, maybe I'll make one with a cut-out "Penguins are cool"! I'd buy that ;)

A BearBag!

Me and my mother finished another bag today!

  It's a polar bear :)

And my grumpy cat was being nice to me!

 She's actually quite nice :)

By the way, Oh Land is coming back to Amsterdam! I'm already so excited! I hope she still wants to buy one of my bags :)

First notebook: Done!

I finished the first notebook for my friend yesterday evening, but I couldn't touch it because the glue was still drying... So today when I got home I was all excited to see how it turned out, and I'm pretty happy about it!

This is the front cover. It has a tree with a little blue owl, and two tanuki that are going to cross the bridge :)

This one is a bit scared it's going to rain though...

I made this little owl to match the Blue Owl Elastic Bookmark made by my friend Laura, which my friend from school is probably going to buy :) Laura has a shop on Etsy where she sells bookmarks and lots of other cute things! You can also find her pretty blog here :)

This is the back cover, with a nice vulcano and two red-crowned cranes.

 One flying...

...and one who isn't so much into physical labour :)

And I was so surprised I can still fold cranes as well that I just had to share it :)

Now I'm just hoping my friend will like it as much as I do!

I would totally buy this, if I...

... wouldn't lose every bracelet that isn't tied permanently to my wrist.

... had a lot of money.

... had a kid. So probably not for the next ten years...

... wouldn't lose something so very tiny.

... didn't have cats who would love to chew on these.

... if I... no, I just really need to have this :)

Everything here is from Etsy! I'm so addicted... I'll probably get withdrawal sympthoms while I'm on holiday... I can't believe there's only four days of school left! And then just one more week until Rome, Venice and Berlin... :)

I've got a Book and a Bag

But not just any Book and Bag...
You might remember the post I did a while ago about some lovely bird themed items I found on etsy. Well, I own one of those things now!
I have a Chewy the Owl bag!

I'm so in love with it I had to admire it a few days before sharing :) okay, okay, probably more like a week... But just look at it and you'll understand :)

Today was the first opportunity to take my gorgeous bag to school (I'm finally not feeling blegh anymore) and show it to my friends. Well, I think the first biologist who doesn't like animal shaped bags has yet to be born :)
The only downside to this bag is that I have to yawn every time I look at it... But no way that's going to stop me from wearing it!

And for the Book part... I couldn't wish for a more perfect notebook to accompany this bag. And you always know you can expect something good when you get a package like this:

Inside was the Clear Skies journal from boygirlparty! It isn't for sale in the etsy shop now, but you can still buy it here.

The inside pages have four different designs, for all the seasons. For some strange reason I forgot to take a picture of summer though... I really really hope this isn't some kind of omen...

I actually got it in the mail a few weeks before the bag, but I had to stop myself from posting it, because they are both gifts from my aunt and uncle. So (though they'll probably never read this): Thank you so much!

Now I just have to think what is worthy enough to be written in such a pretty notebook...
Any ideas?

My first handbound journal!

I've finally taken some pictures of my first handmade journal! I've used the things in the package I got for my birthday and it turned out great! If I may say so myself..

I've painted a brown bear taking an evening stroll on the cover :)

On the back cover I've painted a clouded moon and on the front my name written in the stars :)

And I kind of need a better camera... This one doesn't take decent pictures unless you're outside and very lucky..

I really like this one and I can't wait to use it! I still have an other one to fill though...

Once I get good enough at bookbinding and can do it a bit faster I'll probably start selling these :)
I've really been inspired by Etsy and all the lovely handmade things you can buy there. I really want to be a part of that community :)

I have a really long weekend coming up and I've planned all kinds of fun things. Well, actually my boyfriend has planned two days of surprises so I have no idea what I'll be doing! I'm really excited though!
And this Saturday my mother and I are celebrating our birthdays together. Yay, more presents! :)

Birdy birdy

With all the birds outside chirping about spring and warm weather, I thought I'd do a post about some of my favorite bird themed items on Etsy :)

I could totally imagine myself strolling around with this cute sparrow clutch bag :)

And this Chewy the Owl bag is so cute too!

A couple of these colourful bird pillows would look so good on my couch!

This needle felted Mister Barn Owl is just too cute for words!

I'd really like this happy clay crow to watch over my books on my bookshelf :)

My laptop needs this owl sleeve.. And it's just the right size too!

This is one of the cutest plates I've ever seen! And it's even pre-crumbed :)

And last but not least: these supercute penguin magnets! I really have a thing for penguins, even though they don't chirp and they're more associated with cold weather.. They just walk so cute and wobbly :)

I hope you liked my little selection and hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

Tree beds

Today when working on the final powerpoint for Environmental Biology I came across a picture of a tree bed. I was immediately in love..
This was the one. It is designed and made by Shawn Lovell. I particularly like the little nest!

Unfortunately though, it is sold at 15,000 dollar.. Not a price that would fit my budget..

When I got home I couldn't wait to search for more (and less expensive) treebeds. I didn't find many others though and most of them weren't listed with a selling price.. But they're pretty nonetheless!

This one is the most realistic one I found. And there's a pretty desk to go with it!

And I found this one on Etsy! It is so beautiful.. You can imagine my disappointment when I saw it was listed at almost 13,000 dollar/10.000 euro..

So the best solution seems to just get the trees on your walls :) This looks so lovely and peaceful..

Or you could hang your bed in the trees! Not a good idea for sleepwalkers though.. ;)

When I couldn't find any more treebeds I searched a bit for things to go with it, just in case I can ever get my hands on one :)
I would definitely get this duvet cover, though I would like it better if the background was green.

And these pretty owl pillows to liven things up a bit :)

And for the book I would read in my tree bed I don't have to think hard. It would definitely be the Penguin clothbound version of Wuthering Heights!

And when I'd have enough of reading, I would get out into the real nature with this little book. It's full of ideas for things to do outside, for every time of the year!

Well, I'm off to daydream some more about treebeds.. :)
Please share your recurring daydreams or top-of-the-wishlist items!
